Glen Manor, Portsmouth RI Style Me Pretty Feature
As a bridal stylist, I’ve always been inspired by the way fashion evokes emotions - it tells stories, and can even transport you to another time or place. So, when the opportunity came to work on a Style Me Pretty feature at Glen Manor House, I knew it was going to be something really special. This editorial was inspired by the art of Monet.
Monet’s iconic scenes—like his dreamy water lilies and women with parasols—were drawn into the inspiration for this editorial. His work is soft and full of movement, yet bold and colorful. I wanted the bridal styling to capture that same balance of elegance and vibrancy.
For the bridal looks, I created something that felt timeless but with a modern twist. Lynne Carter Atelier provided our bridal gowns while Lulus gave us the beautiful bright bridesmaids dresses. I’m always after taking a story, spinning it on its head while pushing the fashion forward and I think we were able to do just that. I chose gowns that had a soft, flowing feel—pieces that moved beautifully, just like the brushstrokes in his work. The pale pastels and light fabrics reminded me of the delicate colors he often used, and I loved how they reflected the romantic, dreamy quality of his art. I also couldn’t resist incorporating parasol elements, which felt like a fun and subtle homage to Monet’s famous Women with Parasols series.
What I really love about bridal styling is how every detail plays a part in telling a story. The florals we chose were so painterly and full of life, almost as if they had been plucked straight from one of Monet’s gardens. The table settings, the soft light, even the models’ accessories—it all came together in this beautiful, cohesive vision that felt like a living piece of art.
There’s something fulfilling about using fashion to bring an idea to life, and this shoot really reinforced that for me. It wasn’t just about the dresses—it was about creating an experience, a feeling, and telling his unique story through every element of the styling. It’s why I love bridal styling so much: there’s no greater joy than seeing a bride step into a look that makes her feel both beautiful and truly herself.
I am so excited to share this editorial with you all and can’t wait for you to see the full feature on Style Me Pretty. It’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do, and I’m grateful to have been part of such a beautiful project. Enjoy!
